Dress Up Games and Foundation Garments

When you are ready to play dress up games in the real world, one of the most commonly overlooked items of fashion are the foundation garments. Girls spend hundreds of dollars on gowns to wear to formal dances, yet do not spend even twenty on the proper long line bra or slimming body suit.

Unless you are one of the few girls to be blessed with a tight figure that does not have an ounce of visible fat, you might want to consider using a foundation garment for certain sorts of dress up games. Many formal gowns fit the body tightly, especially long straight skirts. The sheer gowns and the knit dresses that cling to the body unfortunately emphasize all of the details of your body - flattering or not. If you are not thrilled with the way your tummy curves or the way your rear end looks in a gown, you can use foundation garments to keep it all in check and to help you remember to stand up straight.

Foundation Garments for Dress Up Games

The most popular foundation garments for dress up games are strapless bras and body shapers. The strapless bra lets you wear strapless gowns so long as they have a high back. If the back of the gown dips and you have only spaghetti straps to hold it up, you will need to go a step further and look into adhesive bras or a long-line bra that is both strapless and backless. Avoid going without any undergarments as dancing and close movements might reveal more than your bare back in this sort of dress.

The body shaper is, of course, popular with curvy girls who have a bit of extra roundness, but it is not just the overweight girls and women who enjoy body shaper and girdles. There are many slim girls who have a bit of extra around the waist or on the hips. A body shaper helps to smooth that down and create a smooth, sleek line under your clothing. The stiff fabric helps you to remember to stand up straight as well lengthening your midsection even more.

The Most Basic Foundation Garments for Dress Up Games

While the deluxe shape wear might make your gown fit beautifully and make your body a masterpiece, it can also be as expensive as the gown you are putting over it. If budget is an issue, you can do much of the same work with only two pieces - an inexpensive strapless bra and a pair of tummy control pantyhose. The pantyhose with a built in tummy panel can knock and inch off you tummy and hips helping your dress to lie smoothly while leaving you with flexibility.

When buying shaping pantyhose, buy a size larger than you might normally wear, however. It might not be sexy, but you want the top of the pantyhose hitting higher than your natural waist. The closer they are to the bottom of the bra, the less likely it is that you will see a visible line from the waistband under your gown.
