Ways to Dress Up a Clear Glass Vase

If you have a clear glass vase, perhaps given to you as a gift, you can use it for more than just flowers in plain water. You can add a variety of dry filler to the vase to make it look more interesting and decorative. You can also add filler in water with flowers to jazz up a straight forward flower arrangement. Another way to make your vase much more interesting is to add lights to it.

Filler for Glass Vases

This is limited only by your imagination. Anything you can see around your home can be used to make a glass vase decorative and suit your interior design. If you knit, maybe add wool and needles to the vase. If you play golf, golf balls and tees will be an unusual display. Varying the size and shape of the vase will also change the way the display looks. Marbles are another item you can place in a vase to produce an interesting effect - especially if you use metallic or pearled marbles in your glass cylinder vase.

If you intend to use the vase for flowers there is an amazing variety of filler to add to the water to make the display stand out. You can choose from acrylic stone, pebbles, shells, glass chips, gems, pearls. It is so easy to do. Simply add the filler to the vase, add water and position your flowers in the vase. It is a good idea not to use too many flowers when you use filler, as it can spoil the effect.

Vase Lighting

One of the coolest ways to jazz up a vase for nighttime is to add lighting to it. There are a few ways of adding lights - you can use a candle if the glass is able to take heat, or you can add LED lights either under the vase on inside the vase. An LED up lighter which the glass vase sits upon can add a single color or phase through a few colors to change the appearance of a floral centerpiece. One of the easiest ways to move your display from day to night is to add a submersible acrylic LED cube, these can be one color or multicolored. and will illuminate your vase from inside, under water. This changes your vase of flowers to mood lighting in the center of your table. A great effect.
